Strong demand for industrial robots

The era of industrial robots is approaching, and more and more manufacturing companies are acquiring and using robots to enhance their competitiveness. International Data Corporation (IDC) previously released a report showing that China is the world's largest robotics market, and robots are the top technology investment priority for manufacturing companies in all major markets surveyed by IDC in 2018, including China. in 2019, nearly half of China's spending on robotic systems will be seen in the discrete manufacturing sector (including automotive, electronics, metalworking, etc.), with a market size of more than 16.7 billion dollars.

Industrial robots are increasingly present in the domestic manufacturing sector. For example, in the glass manufacturing industry, hundreds of millions of pieces of glass produced and sold each year, requiring a large number of manual inspection with the naked eye. The reporter recently interviewed that the Yantai Grun era through the use of Tulin technology research and development of detection robots, to achieve automated visual inspection of cell phone cover, a device is equivalent to 24 production line workers throughout the day workload, compared with the traditional detection of tens of times the efficiency, but also reduces the economic losses caused by manual misdiagnosis.

Glass detection is just one of the common application scenarios of industrial robots. According to industry experts, with the improvement of technology and product structure optimization, in recent years, the domestic industrial robot application breadth and depth continue to expand. In particular, the promotion and implementation of a number of industrial robot demonstration and application projects has directly driven the application of domestic industrial robots in home appliances, power electronics, auto parts, metal processing and other industries.

At present, Shanghai has become one of the largest domestic suppliers of intelligent manufacturing system solutions output. in 2018, the scale of Shanghai's industrial robotics industry ranked first in the country, with an annual gross output value of 21.918 billion yuan, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year. Recently, by the Shanghai Electric and Fanuc cooperation of Shanghai Fanuc III project, called the robotics industry "super intelligent factory", announced that it will land in Shanghai, the establishment of the first domestic robot production robot digital intelligent production line.

Pacific Securities Research Institute believes that the future prospects of the industrial robotics market is huge, the combination of robotics and artificial intelligence technology is becoming increasingly close, will become the "protagonist" of the production system. In the next few years, the domestic industrial robot market is expected to reach 500,000 to 600,000 units (sales in 2018 was only 147,700 units), domestic robots by virtue of the price (cheaper than foreign 30% to 40%), warranty service, timely response and other advantages, it is possible to occupy 80% of the entire market sales.

Low-level competition exists in the industry

Prospects for domestic industrial robots are promising, and market competitiveness continues to improve. But at the same time, China's robotics industry development in the structural problems are also more prominent in the lack of high-end capabilities at the same time, there are low-end areas of low-level duplication of construction, blind development of hidden worries. Many domestic industrial robotics enterprises belong to the robot body manufacturing enterprises, most of the assembly and OEM, at the low end of the industrial chain, low industrial concentration, the market is not optimistic about the phenomenon of small scattered.

For the current development of domestic industrial robots, some experts pointed out that there is a significant gap between domestic industrial robots and the world level, and the key components of the higher degree of dependence on foreign countries. In the core components, the lack of leading domestic independent innovation technology and products, the market is mainly monopolized by foreign industry giants. In addition, the industry's low-end overcapacity, some enterprises blindly expand production capacity, the production of robotic products can only be gathered in the low-end areas to start price competition.

Tan Jianrong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said at the "Sixth China Robotics Summit" held some time ago, the current development of the robotics industry is hot, but there are still four major obstacles to enterprises to do the digital workshop, the promotion of intelligent manufacturing. First, many manufacturing models are still labor-intensive, resource-intensive and pollution-intensive; second, the technology route is mainly imitation; third, the marketing strategy of low-cost competition; fourth, the workshop management of sloppy production.

Qu Daokui, chairman of China Robot Industry Alliance and founder and president of Shenyang Xinsong Robotics Automation Co. Ltd, has pointed out that China's robotic products still have the phenomenon of low-end application. "The vast majority of domestic robots are applied in low-end fields such as handling and palletizing, while the results are not obvious in the fields of multi-degree-of-freedom robots, interactive robots, and fully autonomous mobile robots." According to Zhang Xun, co-founder and R&D director of the Industrial Department of Tulin Technology, the so-called low-end phenomenon of industrial robots mainly refers to a portion of the robot body manufacturing enterprises, which are mainly assembled and OEM, and the core components need to be imported, which mainly refers to the mechanical and control parts. This low level of assembly of industrial robots can meet certain localization needs, but the market competitiveness of the product is limited.

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and other new-generation information technology, the competitive threshold of the industrial robot market is getting higher and higher. For example, like Tulin cover inspection robot's core lies in its optical system (perception) and recognition algorithms (judgment), these are the entire robot's "brain", which involves control systems, circuit systems and high-performance supercomputing and other technologies, and these are the team's technical requirements are very high.

High-end industries should avoid falling into the quagmire of low-endization

As the key support equipment for advanced manufacturing, in the process of China's manufacturing to China's smart manufacturing, industrial robots will play an important role. However, at present, China's robotic products are mainly low-end, small-scale enterprises, product quality is uneven and other issues are very obvious, mainly by the "cost-effective" rather than the core technology to open the market, at the lower end of the industrial chain. In addition, due to the lack of strict high-tech standards, resulting in a large number of low-end robot production capacity swarming.

"Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" national key research and development program "intelligent robotics" key special demonstration expert group leader Zhao Jie, the development of intelligent robotics industry is divided into three stages: the first stage is to 2020 or 2021, to break through the basic and core technologies, to enhance the innovation capacity of the robotics industry, improve our robotics industry. Enhance the innovation capacity of the robotics industry, improve our country's robotics technology and industrial level; the second stage is to 2025, intelligent manufacturing will enter the stage of interconnected intelligence, domestic robotics technology should reach the world's advanced level, the core components accounted for the amount of domestic robots in the equipment breakthrough of more than 50%; the third stage to 2030, the robotics industry hollowing out the problem of a fundamental solution, the key to the core technology to be independently controlled. core technology should be independently controllable.
